Senior Software Engineer

Are you looking for a work environment that values your independent analytical skills and curious nature? Working as a Senior Software Engineer at Flyclops means solving diverse sets of problems in games that are played by hundreds of thousands of people around the world, every single day. We're a small team with 4 products, so autonomy is a given and self-motivation is key.

The Senior Software Engineer we hire will be a smart seeker and inventive problem-solver.

Your excellent communication and programming versatility will be key assets to our small game company. We urge our developers to take charge of their projects and constantly evolve their craft. Our structure is largely horizontal and we encourage collaborative problem solving that includes thoughtful disagreement. If you get bored doing the same work in the same language, then you will enjoy the many challenges that present themselves at Flyclops.

We aren't looking for someone who specializes in one particular technology, nor do we require any experience in game development. What we would rather see is a familiarity with 2-3 modern or common programming languages as well as some expertise in 1-2 others. These would include:
  • Javascript
  • C#
  • Go
  • Java
  • Objective-C
  • Swift
An experienced programmer with other languages (Python, C, C++, Ruby, etc.) would be welcome. Your formal education is way less important to us than what you make and how you think.

Please note that this a senior-level role, so proven experience in software development is important. This includes programming, systems design and architecture, object-oriented paradigms and design patterns, refactoring and test-driven development.

Additionally, we value experience using and potentially putting together DevOps related systems, including source code management, continuous integration, code review, third-party library management and performance analysis.
